CGTC of WR Drivers Education Program

Effective January 1, 2007, all sixteen (16) year olds must complete an approved driver training program in order to obtain a Class D license or wait until age seventeen (17). Central Georgia Tech has the approval of the Department of Driver Services (DDS) to offer this training, a 36-hour class which is in compliance with Joshua’s Law.

The class is divided into two (2) parts in which the student must successfully complete and pass both in order to receive a certificate of completion. The ability to move a car skillfully is not the same as the ability to drive safely. This class is about mastery of various performance skills that require processing and accurately developing appropriate responses to minimize risk, and gaining experience to predict what action others may take.
